VertexRSI Brand Delivers a Cost-Effective, High Data Rate Solution for a Wide Variety of Applications

TriPoint Global Communications’ VertexRSI business is introducing a line of Pre-Engineered SATCOM Terminals to address many of today’s digital satellite communication earth station and network requirements.

Brad Majeres, Vice President and General Manager, VertexRSI Programs Division Duluth Facility, said, “The new Pre-Engineered SATCOM Terminals provide a cost-effective and simple-to-implement communications solution for a variety of SATCOM applications including voice, data or video supported by Gateway Earth Stations, GSM Network Backbone Stations, Digital Television Uplink Stations, VSAT Hubs, Semi-Permanent Fixed Earth Stations and Disaster Recovery Quick Deploy Stations.

“The units feature VertexRSI standard RF products and commercially available off-the-shelf satellite modems,” Majeres said. “An L-Band IF architecture is used to minimize the overall earth station cost, while at the same time maximize the station’s operational capacity and flexibility. The L-Band interface allows the earth station operator to gradually grow his services by incorporating other L-Band satellite modems, IRDs, or even 70 MHz services through the use of a separate 70 to L-Band converter.”

VertexRSI uses its type approved 3.8m and 4.8m C-Band and Ku-Band antennas, along with its Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) ranging from 25 Watts to 100 Watts in C-Band and 20 Watts to 70 Watts in Ku-Band, each with an integral, internally referenced block up converter as the L-Band to RF uplink for the terminals. VertexRSI's C-Band or Ku-Band Low Noise Block Downconverter (LNB) completes the L-Band receive interface.

Users can interface to the pre-engineered terminal through one of the many synchronous T1/E1, or high speed interfaces on the satellite modem.

“The terminals support a high data rate of up to 10 megabits per second,” Majeres said.

“VertexRSI’s Pre-Engineered SATCOM Terminals are compact, and simple to install,” Majeres said. “Availability is approximately four to five weeks for a complete terminal and application and network engineering support is also available if required,” he added.
