Terminal certified to operate over Ka-Band on WGS
SATCOM Technologies' 1.2-Meter VSAT terminal has successfully completed rigorous testing and certification from the U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT). The 1.2-Meter Ka-Band terminal configuration is now certified to operate over the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system.
SATCOM Technologies' lightweight Ka-Band terminal is comprised of a Prodelin 1.2-Meter high band transmit and receive antenna and a low axial ratio Ka-Band 2-port diplexer. The RF electronics include a 10 Watt Ka-Band block upconverter, a low noise block downconverter, and a power supply. The integration kit includes an interconnection waveguide and a non-penetrating roof mount.
The purpose of ARSTRAT terminal testing and certification is to ensure that all WGS terminals conform to stringent performance and operational control requirements. Successful certification verifies that the terminal configuration complies with all applicable Military Standards and Ka-Band performance criteria specified in MIL-STD 188-164A and MIL-STD 188-165A.
"SATCOM Technologies' successful completion of the ARTSTRAT terminal testing and certification process is a major achievement," said Jeff Porter, General Manager of SATCOM Technologies products business. "Certification makes this terminal easy to install, operate and maintain. This WGS qualification is an important part of our program to produce robust and cost-efficient tactical and strategic terminals for the Warfighter."
